White Collar "Copycat Caffrey" Nitpicks

Season 2, Episode 3 Air Date: July 27, 2010

When you watch a program over and over, you start to notice minor continuity issues, plot oversights and other goofs. This page is not intended to be a criticism aimed toward the show or anyone who works on White Collar. They produce a great show and should be proud of their work. That's why I titled it "Nitpicks" because to nitpick means "to be overly critical or criticize minor details." If it bothers you, please don't read them. This page is intended to be for people who love watching something and going "I never noticed that..."

Spell Checker: On the syllabus Neal's last name is spelled wrong. It says "Caffery" and not "Caffrey." There are also a couple of typos in the syllabus, most noticeably with the word "appended." It should be apprehended. To see the syllabus, you'll find a large image of it in the Images section under Copycat Caffrey Syllabus.

Any Other Reasons? Peter asks Neal if he went to college and why he didn't. In Need to Know Neal told him he never graduated from high school.

Dumb as He Looks: In the bar, the student makes a stupid bet. All Alex had to do was lie about her card since she is the only one who saw it. You'd think he'd have someone else look at the card to keep her honest. And why does Alex claim she's out $200. Why didn't the professor return her money to her when he saw his student had his money back? Alex says she is out $200. If Neal gave the student the whole $400, then wouldn't Neal be out the money and not her?

Hit 'Em Harder! If Alex had really slapped Neal, he would have had a red mark from her hand. Yet, Neal's face doesn't have a mark on it when he rejoins the students.

Strong man: Two million dollars worth of Krugerrands would weigh at least about 120 to 130 pounds. (Gold averaged about $1000 per troy ounce in 2009. You would need 2000 ounces of gold to value at $2 million. 2000 troy ounces equals 2200 regular ounces, or 137 pounds.)
