Quotes from White Collar Episode "Flip of the Coin"

Season 1, Episode 4 Air Date: November 13, 2009

Burke: Let's grab his company's financial records from last year. They're on file.
Caffrey: You want me to do it?
Burke nods.
Caffrey: We have clerks for that.
Burke: I got something better. I got you.

Caffrey: Didn't you just join this unit?
Cruz: Yeah, and I didn't even have to go to prison first.

Cruz: The counterfeit stock certificates were your only conviction, but you're implicated in at least a dozen other confidence schemes, frauds, and forgeries.
Caffrey: Is that why you asked to be reassigned to the White Collar Unit?
Cruz: Yeah, you know, I wasn't going to pass up the chance to work with someone who I've admired since college.
Caffrey: Hey, play your cards right, I'm sure we'll make a case or two.
Cruz: Oh, honey, I was talking about Agent Burke. He caught you twice, right?

Elizabeth: Now, Neal, just because someone's accused of doing something, that doesn't mean that that person is guilty, right?
Caffrey: Define "guilty."
Burke: You really think he's the best person to ask?

Caffrey: There's something else.
Burke: What?
Caffrey: Before I say anything, what's the statute of limitations—
Burke: Just tell me.

Jones: So, if you were going to frame somebody, how would you do it?
Caffrey: I've never framed anyone — only been framed.
Cruz: Yeah? What for?
Caffrey: Counterfeiting stock certificates and about a dozen other confidence schemes, frauds, and forgeries.

Caffrey: Easy there tiger. Don't you have to go home to Elizabeth?

Burke: Look, I try to be a good person.
Caffrey: You— you have your moments.
Burke: Yeah, it's just I don't—
Caffrey: Is it the crying?
Burke: Yeah. I can handle everything else but women crying. That's all. I don't know what to do with it. I try to fix it. I mean, with you, you know, I give you a slug on the shoulder—
Caffrey: Totally.
Burke: —and I'd tell you to cowboy up. But it's...

Burke: Neal, I don't know what you're up to, but whatever it is, stop.

Caffrey: I didn't steal it... I photocopied it.

Caffrey talking to Mozzie on the phone.
Mozzie: I found a bit of treasure too. On my way to show you.
Caffrey: Hurry up.
Mozzie: I walk in a delicate pace.

Mozzie: Photocopy of a pawn ticket, but I got this coin. What?
Caffrey: Sorry, Mr. Haversham, June isn't here at the moment.
Mozzie: Oh, well, uh... too bad. Uh, tell her I look forward to our next round of drinks and... Parcheesi.
Caffrey: Yep.
Burke: Hang on a second.
Mozzie: Oh, I'm sorry, apparently I'm interrupting something.
Caffrey: Yeah.
Burke: Who are you?
Mozzie: I'm the neighbor. Don... tay. Haversham. Dante Haversham?
Burke: And you're dating June?
Mozzie: Uh, uh, courting. Courting. Yeah, what can I say, she likes a little, uh, cream in her coffee.
Peter, to Caffrey: You really want to keep this up?
Caffrey: No, I don't. You're right, this is—
Burke: No, I know. How about I just call you Mr. Haversham? Come on in. Thought you'd be taller.
Mozzie: Me too.

Burke: I thought you'd be taller.
Mozzie: Me too.

Burke: While you are here, have a drink.
Mozzie: Oh well, I don't drink.
Burke: Well, tonight you do.
Mozzie: Gin's good.

Peter and Mozzie laughing together.
Burke: I don't get it. Girl leaves nothing but an empty bottle behind.
Mozzie: Least she could do is leave a full one.
Caffrey: Guys, I'm right here.
Burke: Fair enough, fair enough. Man, look at that view. Is this why you guys do it? Is this what it's all about?
Mozzie: It's not about the stuff.
Caffrey: Moz.
Mozzie: It's about doing what we want to do. Who cares about nine-to-fives and 401-Ks? Playing by the rules only makes... borders. They just... take away everything that's good about living life.
Caffrey: Moz, Moz, you lived in a storage unit.
Mozzie: Yeah, but I lived there, man. I lived! As long as I don't have to live under anyone else's time or dime, I'm a free man. I can do whatever I want.

Cruz: It's a Mercedes.
Caffrey: No, this isn't even an S class. I need to look like I can drop a few million on antiquities. This says look what I kept in the divorce.
Cruz: Really, you can't make this work? What kind of a conman are you? The Neal Caffrey I did my thesis on could make this work.

Caffrey: Moz, wake up.
Mozzie: Leave me alone.
Caffrey: Come on, come on, Moz, come on.
Mozzie: Did you draw on my face?
Caffrey: What? No.

Caffrey: I need a car.
Mozzie: I'll get my Slim Jim.
Caffrey: No, can't steal it.
Mozzie: Yeah, (Mozzie does air quotes.) "we can't steal it."

Aimes: I've always believed that the best way to hide something is in plain sight.

Gunman: Looks like we have a stand-off.
Cruz: No we don't. (Gestures toward Neal) Shoot him and I'll get you on murder too.
