“You probably have no idea who I am, so I'm going to tell you. I'm an internationally renowned art thief. And tonight, I'm here to rob you. Cheers!” – Neal Caffrey

Highlights

The Con

Neal, Alex and Mozzie work a scam to steal the music box from the Italian Consulate.

Interesting Facts

The pool scene was shot at the same location (one floor down) from the puzzle scene in Free Fall.

Also, the two parking garage scenes with Fowler (one with Neal and one with Peter and Diana) were shot at the same parking garage, although they do not occur at the same location in the story.

Character Information

The Bad Guy

Garrett Fowler is revealed to be the man manipulating Neal and Kate. For more information about Fowler, check out Major Players.

Kate Clues

Fowler is not the one masterminding all of this. He has a superior that he speaks to on the phone. Diana finds information about Operation Mentor on Fowler along with an encrypted file. It is unclear what is in the file, but Fowler does not want that file forwarded to his superiors in the FBI.

Operation Mentor created new identities for Kate and Neal. It also transferred Neal to the OPR department and listed them as going "deep undercover agents" for the OPR. Neal and Kate meet at the airport as planned. Before Neal can climb on the plane, Peter arrives. As they are talking, the plane explodes killing Kate.
